Stop Smoking Today - A Smoker’s Diary

It’s that time again when I’m having another go at quitting the old weed. I’ve had some health problems lately so this time I’m more determined than ever to succeed. I decided to write a Stop Smoking Diary blog to keep a daily record of how I’ve been feeling.

I’m hoping that keeping the diary will help not only myself, but other people too who can perhaps post comments, or just simply read what’s already there. My thinking is that maybe a few of us can get through this together.

Also in the diary, at the end of each day I’ll be keeping a record of how much money I’ve saved. I smoked an average of 30 a day and here in the UK a packet of 20 costs about £5.50 (I know, it’s outrageous!). That means each day I’ll be saving about £8.25 which will soon add up! You’ll be able to see all of this in the Stop Smoking Diary.

The method I’m using this time is by taking Champix (also known as Chantix) which is supposed to work by attaching itself to the receptors in the brain that nicotine normally attaches to (you continue to smoke for a week or two while taking the drug). This means that you’re not getting your normal dose of nicotine so when you eventually stop, it doesn’t seem so bad (well that’s the plan anyway!).

I have tried other methods in the past, e.g. nicotine patches, hypnosis, etc but they haven’t worked for me. Different methods work for different people so please feel free to join in what ever method you’re using or thinking of using. Perhaps you could even suggest another method!

Anyway, you can visit my Stop Smoking Diary below. Let me know what you think and if you think it can be improved in any way. Or just have a look! I hope it helps.

Cheers,
